Walmart Sold Out Of The Nintendo 3DS

UPDATE- 3DS IS IN STOCK ONCE AGAIN AS OF 03/07/2011

Walmart is sold out of preorders of the Nintendo 3DS it seems, at least for now. Will this be a common theme as the release date of March 27th approaches? It seems likely. Better reserve yours now if you want one on day one.

There's a Dragon In His Pants

You knew somebody was going to try it, and admit it, you were curious too.

I found this video to be rather funny, though I admit it takes a certain kind of humor. Be warned that this video is not appropriate for all ages but does NOT contain nudity.

MSNBC Gives Their Impressions of the 3DS.

I think this is a very well read article and raises some good points, both in the positve and negative for the 3DS. The only problem I have is that the author seems to list many things in the positive about the 3DS but then contradicts herself by implying the 3DS is not a day one purchase.

The author promises to give their final verdict after more time with the 3DS.

A Video Of The Menu Interface

Brain Ashrcraft of Kataku.com is quite impressed with the 3DS menu interface  calling it "eleagant and intuitive". Check out this video from kataku where he plays around with it some.

More Information On 3DS AR Games

Taken Directly From CVG:

"'AR Shot' is apparently "a combination of pool and mini golf". You use a cue stick to hit a ball around a mini course and sink it down a hole at the end - all done on your dining table. You walk around your table (or chosen surface) to make your plays.

'Fishing' turns your table into a body of water and you move your 3DS to manipulate your rod, dipping your line into the water to yank out fish of increasing size (you occasionally see sharks). Sounds amazing, that.

'Graffiti' lets you draw on surfaces with a range of paints, paintbrushes and other special effects like fire. You can then manipulate your drawing with the buttons."

Ebay Sales Of The 3DS Start

You can currently buy a 3DS Japanese import on Ebay for just over $300. Of course, that price doesn't include such things as shipping costs which will raise the price a bit. $40 dollars or $350 dollars if you want the 3DS in 2-4 days. That would bring the price to nearly $700 dollars. There are currently 3 bids with 3 hours left on the auction.

The first link shows all the 3DS systems avaialable while the second is for the particular 3DS for sale that we mentioned above in the article.

BBC Interview With Shigeru Miyamoto

I could post interview highlights but it would probably just be easier for you to head on over to the article yourself and check out their interview with Mario's creator. It is an intersting interview that gives some insight into the 3DS and a little into Miyamoto himself, but nothing news worthy comes out of the interview as far as I can tell. But still, it's worth checking out.

Size Of The AR Cards Influnce Size Of The AR Models

Apparently Nintendo Japan has posted the Nintendo AR Cards that ome with the system on their website. The reason being is just in case the cards get damaged or loss. Well apparently if you choose to download and print these cards, and print out larger versions, the AR models can get bigger as well. AR stands for Augmented Reality and is a feature that comes with the Nintendo 3DS. Chenk out this niffy video below:

Option To View Your DS Games On The 3DS In Original Form

Apparently there is an option built in to your 3DS that allows you to play your DS games in their original format without any resizing or upscaling. In order to do this, just start the game while holding down the start and select buttons.

First Nintendo 3DS Browser Details

"Unlike previous Nintendo systems, the 3DS will not make use of an Opera-supported browser. This time around Nintendo has opted to partner with Access to provide an Internet application for the handheld, which will make use of NetFront software. The PS3 and PSP are two other gaming systems which feature NetFront technology."

"ACCESS, an embedded software developer, will be providing the new web browser for the Nintendo 3DS, a portable game console launched by Nintendo in Japan on the 26th of February. Nintendo expects to provide the new internet functionality in May, through the distribution of a software update. The 3DS will be available for sale in the United States and Europe in March. ACCESS will be providing their NetFront browser, which has been adopted by more than a billion devices, including mobile phones and TV’s"
